Essential Functions The duties of a Court Executive Officer are set forth in Rule 10.610 of the California Rules of Court. In addition to those duties, a Court Executive Officer’s responsibilities would typically include the following, non-exclusive list: 1. Confers with the judicial officers and staff in the development and execution of strategic and operational plans; serves as a key resource to judicial committees in development of and review of the Court goals, strategy and policy. 2. Makes recommendations to the Presiding Judge on budget priorities, prepares and implement court budgets, including payroll, accounting and financial controls; employs sound budget and fiscal management practice and procedures to ensure that annual expenditures are within the court's budget. 3. Provides general direction to and supervision of the employees of the court, and drafts for court approval and administers a personnel plan for court employees that complies with California Rules of Court 10.670; hires, disciplines, and terminates non judicial employees. 4. Takes appropriate measures to ensure that the court maintains a safe and harassment-free workplace, and that employees are able to report harassment without fear of retaliation. 5. Implements, oversees and updates an efficient calendar and caseflow management system. Directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of the court's management information systems and other technology systems.
